Under Pressure
Back and foot pain are common complaints during pregnancy. Researchers measured the pressure experienced in pregnant women’s feet and showed significant increases compared to control groups. They also showed that when walking pregnant women tended to have their feet in contact with the floor for longer. The researchers concluded that foot pain in pregnancy was caused by these increases in pressure, and recommended that this could be addressed with exercise and modifications
